2nd May 2011 Windsurfing: Ynsylas Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: 30-35 knots Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 17ºC Sea Temperature: 11ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 31.6 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 16.0 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Another crazy windy day here in paradise. 30-35 knots, blue skies, blue seas and sand storms all over the beach. What more could a windsurfer want! Went out on the seafront again maxed out with my 5.2m and Falcon Speed board, Once again though it was pretty choppy and that board is really unforgiving and provides a really harsh ride. It's so stiff that you feel every ripple let along pieces of chop so maxed out at speed in such conditions is hard work. Top speeds were therefore pretty low but it felt fast, frantic and scary out there. AndyW, Stevebus, Dave and Sarah all joined me out there after a while as well so it was good to have others to sail with for a time. I kept forgetting to start my GPS watch though, so I actually sailed quite a bit further than it actually recorded and my fastest run was also during a period when it wasn't recording - typical, I knew I should have just left it on the whole time. |
